Program Overview

Discover Program

8 credits in the area of Biblical Studies, 5 credits in the area of Christian Living, and 4 credits in the area of Practical Ministries

One of the four-month blocks in the fall, DISCOVER challenges students to discover new depths concerning Scripture, oneself and Jesus. This program is designed to help the student wrestle with and better answer questions like:

  • WHAT IS THE BIBLE ALL ABOUT? CAN I TRUST IT?
  • WHO AM I?
  • WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO FOLLOW JESUS?

Successful completion of the program results in students achieving a Certificate in Biblical Studies.

Engage Program

6 credits in the area of Biblical Studies, 3 credits in the area of Christian Living, 3 Credits in the area of Theology, 2 credits in the area of Missions & Communications and 4 Credits in the area of Practical Ministries

Options for Church History and Leading Worship

One of the winter blocks, ENGAGE, is a track that encourages biblical/theological learning to move from head to heart and equips the student with tools to walk the path following Jesus:

  • APPLYING SCRIPTURE TO EVERYDAY LIFE
  • BECOMING WHOLE & HEALTHY AS AN INDIVIDUAL
  • LIVING WITH INTENTIONALITY

Successful completion of the program results in students achieving a Certificate in Christian Discipleship.

Note: many students attend the Discover and Engage discipleship programs to gain a biblical foundation for life and then continue on in other university or career studies.

Catalyst Program

4 credits in the area of Biblical Studies, 1 credit in the area of Christian Living, 6 Credits in the area of Leadership Development, 2 credits in the area of Spiritual Formation and 2 Credits in the area of Practical Ministries

Options for Worship Team Leadership

Offered simultaneous to the Discover block each fall is a program for returning students, it has been titled CATALYST and includes a focus on leadership development:

  • BEING A PERSON OF INFLUENCE
  • SERVANT LEADERSHIP IN THE EXAMPLE OF JESUS
  • EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

Successful completion of the program results in students achieving a Certificate of Christian Leadership.

Impact Program

4 credits in the area of Biblical Studies, 3 credits in the area of Cross-cultural Training, 3 Credits for a Cross-cultural experience of one month, and 3 credits in the area of Theology

Options for Church History and Leading Worship

The second winter block offered each year is IMPACT.  This program’s focus is on putting faith into action and includes:

  • INTENTIONAL MINISTRY, PRAYER, & CULTURAL TRAINING
  • HANDS-ON SERVICE LOCALLY
  • INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE IN MISSION

The Diploma in Christian Leadership & Mission is awarded to all students who have participated fully in the life of CLBI and completed the requirements of all four blocks of study aforementioned.

Degree Programs


Applied Christian Studies Degree Program

Third year – Internship Experience (1000 hr.) min. eight months of hands-on experience in the field of study

Fourth year – 15 Liberal Arts credits + 15 credits of study in area of ministry major (as approved)
Upon completion student earns:  Bachelor of Applied Christian Studies (BACS)

 

Theological Studies Degree Program

Third year and Fourth year – Liberal Arts & Theological study requirements (63 credits total)
Upon completion student earns: Bachelor of Theological Studies (BTS)
