CLBI Sunday

In 1 Kings 17:8 -16 we read the account of Elijah and the widow of Zarephath. She gave her last bit of food so that the prophet could be fed. What prompted her response of faith? It was the promise of God given through Elijah that assured her that He would supply all her needs. Today we find the promises of God recorded for us in the pages of the Bible. How important for every believer to be engaged in the regular study of God's Word - whether individual Bible reading, group studies at our local church, or at a school like CLBI. For in such study we discover all that God has promised His children.

The early pioneers of CLBI had three central goals for the ministry of this school. CLBI exists so that:

• Students might first get into a saving fellowship with Jesus Christ.
• Students might come to know and love the Christian Church especially in light of the Lutheran Confessions.
• Students might be taught and inspired to faithful and humble service wherever God would lead.
