Course Description
We have the privilege of having Pastor Daniel Berge join us from the Lutheran Brethren Seminary (MN, USA) to lead us through the Gospel of Mark. This will provide a closer look into how Jesus is at work in the world around us and how we can grow in joining Him on His mission!

Instructor
Daniel Berge lives in Fergus Falls, MN with his wife Meghan, and their 8 kids, and is also where he serves as the professor of New Testament at Lutheran Brethren Seminary. Although Daniel was born in Saskatchewan, he grew up in Fergus Falls, MN. His first call to a church was in 2000 in Calgary, AB, and served as the youth leader at Peace Lutheran Church. After returning to MN, Daniel graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Classical & Near Eastern Archaeology in 2005. He then moved to his hometown, Fergus Falls, MN, where he worked as an independent contractor. In 2009 Daniel returned to school and graduated in 2012 from Lutheran Brethren Seminary with a Master’s of Divinity degree. Two years later, Daniel completed his PhD in Biblical Studies from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, and in 2014 he accepted a call to serve as pastor of Immanuel Lutheran church in Eugene, OR. He served there until August 2017 when he began his position at Lutheran Brethren Seminary, as well as serving as pastor of Living Faith Church (also in Fergus Falls). Beyond spending time with his family, Daniel enjoys playing basketball, pouring concrete, and studying foreign languages (especially “dead” ones). He is excited to teach on the gospel of Mark because he finds students of the Bible aren’t yet equipped to value the unique voice of Mark in his gospel. He has found that students usually haven’t seen the big picture of Mark’s unique contribution to the Bible and us. Mark is one of his favourite gospels to teach on—and it doesn’t hurt that he wrote his dissertation on Mark’s gospel.
